2015 Happy Birthday Billy

$300.00 per Bottle
Napa Valley Red Blend, 1.5L
"Happy Birthday Billy" is named after William Sianis, who cursed the Cubs and sent a telegram declaring that curse to Philip K. Wrigley following his ejection from the 1945 World Series.

On the 46th Anniversary of Billy Sianis’ death, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 in game 6 of the 2016 National League Championship Series to win the National League Pennant. The Cubs would go on to defeat the Cleveland Indians and win the 2016 World Series, and thus ending the 71 year curse put on the team by William Sianis.

It is the same wine that following an age-old tradition, Jon Lester gave to his teammates commemorating their decisive victory over the Cleveland Indians in 2016.  Click here to read the release letter with more details on the backstory.

Limited quantities available, 1.5L bottle.

The entry is massive with juicy red and dark fruits—cranberries and plums—along with a touch of rhubarb and star anise. The wine finishes with lingering licorice and evolving, prominent tannins that will only soften and mature with age.
