Dessert Wine Muté is our take on a fortified wine inspired by the acclaimed port styles developed in Portugal and France. With the addition of a neutral spirit, or “muté” to the must, unfermented sugar is preserved by the high proof and the result is a sweet wine with abundant color structure, and purity of flavor. Fortified with a local spirit it is made with Cabernet Sauvignon and traditional port wine grape varieties. Classic in style, but made with a California focus, this is a limited production offering.

The mid-palate sets up nicely with layers of bright acidity, subtle richness, and plush flavors of strawberry. Together, this all frames a long and lingering finish layered with soft and subtle chains of long tannins.
