Pouring into the glass with a glowing crimson core, the 2023 Slander opens with classic California Pinot Noir aromatics of black cherry, strawberry compote, wild raspberry and a dusting of white pepper and puff pastry. Ripe red fruits on the entry lead to a mid-palate of berry galette, a touch of blueberry and redcurrant. Focused and bright throughout the palate, the wine finishes with a gentle drying tannin structure and a pleasing close.
