The 2021 Balloon Art sits in the glass with a dark crimson core and a cardinal rim. Immediate aromatics pilfer out – blackberry, black tea, licorice, violet, lilac, squid ink and cardamom. The entry is extremely soft yet massive at the same time; more blackberry pie, anise, creme and mineral tones. Rich through the palate with chewy tannins, the wine closes with concentration and depth.
In the glass, a dazzling hue of pale salmon strikes a pose with a shimmering rose gold band on the rim. Honeyed almond, white orchard blossom, brioche and wild strawberries charms the nose to warrant further examination. With a chalky texture and lively mousse, the mid palate slants a textural array of pomegranate, ripe watermelon and short crust pastry notes. Ever-persistent, the lovely tones are crisscrossed throughout with refreshing slivers of acidity.
The 2021 Non-Fiction exudes a dark mauve with a purplish-maroon rim that lingers on the sides of the glass. Brooking aromatics of black and blue plum, leather, olive tapenade and potting solid give way to bright notes of apricot, peach and even a touch of white flower. Layered on the palate, immediate notes of chocolate covered espresso bean, reduced blueberry and black fruits fold into a close of supple, tantalizing tannins.
