WINEMAKERʼS NOTES
The 2019 Pharaon is a selection of the best barrels that capture the pinnacle of our work at Department 66. Opening aromatics are chock full of black plum, blackberry, brioche, exotic spices—cardamom, cumin, bay leaf—and cedar. Full bodied upon entry and throughout the palate, there is a mélange of sensations that one experiences—bright acid, concentrated lift and a polished texture. Osso buco, muddled raspberry and black tea close out the lengthy finish.
