On the nose, a floral and expressive set of aromas flow from the glass: ultraripe blue plum, open-hearth charred duck, sweet oak, a slight funk and the spray from opening a juicy Cara Cara orange. The palate taps into another dimension: massive, relentless, shocking, girthy, sinister, truly unique. Notes of sweet blueberry pie, braised beef stew and Vietnamese coffee transport you to 2pm under the sweltering Death Valley sun encased in an imploding black hole of tannin.
