UNLOCK THE ORIN SWIFT VAULT

A century ago, the nearly two-foot-thick walls of the vault were cast. At that time, it promised the citizens of St. Helena a place to keep their most valuable assets. Today, the space has changed, but its duty of housing prized possessions has not.

The intimate space within the larger tasting room has been designed to host small groups and big bottles. The Vault experience features library wines and magnums, allowing for a deep immersion into our hits and rarities over the years, all guided by OSC experts.

The space captures the spirit of Orin Swift, perfectly balancing the past with the present, and craftsmanship with irreverence. Designed by OSC founder, Dave Phinney, the walls have been stripped back to their original, raw state. The central wooden table was crafted to perfectly fit the space, while the surrounding artworks are Phinney originals (one by Dave, the other by his daughter). There is even a hidden detail from the vault’s past (tip: when you’re in, look up…)

It’s nearly impossible to take a building on the National Register of Historic Places and make it feel new again. The audacity of the challenge demanded Dave and the OSC team to push their creativity. The tasting room, and the vault at the center of it, is more than a restoration; it’s a reimagining. It’s a space that, since day one, has asked: what do you value?
